Red pandas are considered very cute and most people have affection for red Pandas. They are slightly larger than domestic cats with a bear-like body and thick russet fur. Their belly and limbs are black and there are white markings on the side of their heads. They do have small eyes.
They are very acrobats and skillful animals that stay most of their time in the trees. Around 50% of the red Pandas are found in the Eastern Himalayas.
They use their long bushy tails for balancing themselves while climbing the trees. Their tail also protects them in the winter season as they cover themselves with it.
Primarily they are herbivores and their name Panda is derived from the word “Ponya” which means bamboo-eating animal in Nepal.
The Predators of Red Pandas
A fully grown Panda is far too formidable a foe for most of the predators but some animals can prey on cubs. There are different kinds of animals that can hunt or prey on the red pandas and those are snow leopards, jackals, and yellow-throated martens.
They all are capable enough to kill and eat the panda’s cubs. For most of the part of the life, red pandas spend their life on the trees eating the branches of the trees and they hardly come on the ground.
The Predators of Giant Pandas
In real life snow leopards, which are also endangered, share some of the same habitats as the black and white bears and pose a threat to the young pandas.
Most of the time when the pandas are away from their cubs snow leopards and martens take advantage of that and kill their babies and eat them.
So, the real question is here can pandas fight back? Are they capable of defending themselves against the other predators? Well, giant pandas are solitary and peaceful animals, which usually avoid fights and confrontation, but if escape is impossible then they will certainly fight back to protect themselves from the predators.
And as cuddly as they may look, pandas can protect themselves as well as most other bears by using their physical strength with their powerful jaws and teeth. They can grow up to 1.5m long and weighs as much as 150kg.

Moreover, they are excellent climbers and when any animals climb the tree chasing them, they can easily hurt the other animals because they are habitual of climbing the trees.
When they catch any animal or try to come into their boundary, they know how to protect themselves.
First of all, they will hug him so tight that the bones of the other animal will break in the result and then it starts biting and due to having very sharp teeth, it can easily kill the other animals.
So, as a result, it can be seen that they can defend themselves against a lot of predators but when it comes to their babies or cubs, predators sometimes attack them and kill them.
They have adapted themselves to the environment and now they live in the dark forests somewhere there is an abundance of trees and green leaves for them. One more thing that you should know about them is that they can share their boundaries with other animals like monkeys and raccoons.
They avoid confrontation most of the time but if anyone attacks them, they become aggressive and protect themselves.
